The third Steering Committee meeting brought together Steering Committee Members from the European Commission (EC), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Italian Development Cooperation, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), NEPAD and observers from KfW Development Bank in Johannesburg; and The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) (via teleconference).
The CEO of NEPAD Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki briefly joined the discussions during the afternoon session speaking on the high importance that the PARM initiative has in NEPAD’s Agenda and the need to work together with a cooperative spirit.
The 3rd Steering Committee Annual Planning Meeting represented the first meeting since the appointment of the PARM Secretariat in September 2014.
The main objective of the meeting were to present the new team to the Steering Committee and present the plan of activities for the year 2015, to determine its strategy to ensuring quality and timely delivery of the PARM programme outcomes.
The PARM Secretariat has presented the on-going implementation progress and budget and discussed the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) for the coming year, including update the long-term plan 2014-2017.
Planning of Next Meetings
The next two Steering Committee meetings will take place on the following agreed dates: Thursday 26th February 2015 and Thursday 2nd July 2015. It was suggested and agreed to host the Annual meeting systematically in Johannesburg hosted by NEPAD.
