We are pleased to share with you the Platform for Agricultural Risk Management Annual Report for the year 2014, approved during the last Steering Committee meeting in March 2015.

PARM has focused in 2014 on setting up activities, consolidating its governance and partnerships, and defining a long term strategy. It has proven to be a learning process so far and continues to be on this course.

The achievements reported have created the basis to ensure that PARM achieves its cruising speed in 2015.

PARM activities began in 2014 in Africa, implemented in strategic partnership with NEPAD and other existing initiatives. Setting up activities took place in Niger, Uganda and Ethiopia. The challenge has been and will be to follow a systematic approach to ensure good quality results, while adapting the process to the different country contexts and policy timing. In particular PARM activities need to serve timely as input for the new agricultural investment plans that are being elaborated in the selected countries.

We would like to thank you for the proven interest in PARM and its activities. We are certain that 2015 will be a fruitful year, both in terms of new and consolidating partnerships, and in terms of targets and achievements met.

Sincerely,

The PARM Team
