PARM and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are co-organising a regional workshop to capitalise on experiences and formulate an integrated regional Agricultural Risk Management (ARM) programme. This hybrid event will take place from 16 to 20 July 2025 in Lomé, Togo, and will bring together key stakeholders involved in ARM in West Africa, including representatives from governments; regional, pan-African, and international institutions; the private sector; and smallholder organizations.
Participants will engage in dynamic sessions to share national and regional experiences, identify best practices, and lay the groundwork for a coherent and concerted regional ARM programme. This programme will focus on developing comprehensive strategies to mitigate risks, strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems, ensuring food security and sovereignty, and empowering youth through job creation and innovation to mitigate irregular migration.
Beyond fostering collective dialogue, the workshop will also aim to strengthen synergy and coordination between members’ states and regional and international partners.
