In the last quarter of 2024, PARM released three Agricultural Risk Management Risk Assessment Studies (AVC-RAS) focusing on the rabbit, maize and rice value chains in Burundi. Through its institutionalization project, PARM supported the completion of 7 new curricula (3 master’s programs and 4 modules) in Burkina Faso and Madagascar to mainstream Agricultural Risk Management (ARM) into university programs and private sector practices. Additionally, PARM supported the Burundian government in its efforts to mobilize resources for key projects aligned with its 2040-2060 vision. Among these projects, the PARM-designed investment project “Agricultural Risk Management for Inclusive Development and Resilience – GRADIR” aims to support the development of resilient, inclusive and wealth-creating agriculture, while guaranteeing Burundi’s food and nutritional sovereignty in the rabbit, maize and rice sectors. Furthermore, PARM advanced ARM on regional and global agendas to scale up blended finance and insurance for agriculture and achieve resilience of agrifood systems.
