Agriculture Risk Management in Developing Countries: a learning course for practitioners

Abstract

This module presents knowledge on the diverse forms of tools that can be used to manage risks. It focuses on main production, finance, market, and government-support related ARM tools – to be used alone or in combination – with an overview of advantages and disadvantages for each tool. It is developed specifically for PARM CD2 level training – but it can also be adapted to support similar pieces of training at the country level.

PARM’s CD2 is an interactive 5-day course that targets extension workers, university students, public and private officers, and officials with higher educational background. It aims to provide advanced agricultural risk management (ARM) knowledge to create a pool of local ARM experts to timely advice and train farmers on managing agricultural risks.
